Let us introduce to you our new courses starting in January.
“Maqam” here refers to “melodic modes” – the system of playing sound. Appropriate Maqam is also used for the azan that informs the prayer five times a day.
In this seminar, we will explain the five azans based on the theory of each Maqam. In the first class, let’s learn Azan and its Maqam for Salat al-Fajr (first prayer of the five daily prayers).
