Introduction
As a phenomenon experienced by human beings throughout her/his life, religion has been a subject of psychological research. Psychology of religion, a sub-branch of psychology, investigates the effects of belief or disbelief on human life. The emergence of psychology of religion is simultaneous with the emergence of psychology since the pioneers of psychology like Wundt, James, Watson, Freud, and, Maslow have included the religious beliefs in their studies. Up to now, numerous studies in the field of psychology of religion have shed light on the effects of belief or disbelief to a higher being on psychological elements such as emotions, thoughts, behaviors, attitudes, personality, identity, and coping strategies. Religious psychology has an important place in psychology of religion studies such as Buddhist psychology, Christian psychology, and Islamic psychology. These lectures will present both theoretical and empirical knowledge on the psychological background of religion and spirituality in different cultures. Focusing on Islamic psychology, the lectures will offer a psychological view of tasawwuf. Additionally, the thoughts of Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi, a well-known sufi, will be investigated from a psychological perspective depending on Whirling Dervishes Ceremony and Mathnawi stories.

The Importance of Good Character
The most beloved of Allah's servants to Allah are those with the best manners.
Sahih Bukhari (Hadith 3559)
Justice and Fairness
Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice.
Hiç şüphesiz Allah size, emanetleri ehline teslim etmenizi ve insanlar arasında hükmettiğiniz zaman adaletle hükmetmenizi emreder.
