Little is known that the foundations of Western civilization that we routinely benefit from were developed in the medieval Islamic world and spread to Europe via the Iberian Peninsula. In our modern life, the origins of Islamic civilization live in medicine, pharmacy, mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, philosophy, cooking and spices, courtesy, fashion, music, and entertainment. That’s because the medieval Islamic world revived a semi-obsolete Greek civilization and built the world’s most advanced civilization for almost 1000 years. In this lecture, I will explain the truth of the Islamic civilization that laid the foundation of today’s science and technology in an easy-to-understand manner.
