Since it recognizes in Islam only one incorporeal God and the founder Muhammad is considered its representative, there is no altar or statue in the prayer hall.
The believers only worship in the direction of Mecca in Arabia and only place a niche on the wall to indicate the direction of this Mecca. Mosques all over the world always have their niches facing Mecca, and hundreds of millions of believers all over the world pray all at once toward Mecca. This is the worldwide greatness of Islam. ……

Architect Chuta Ito is said to have coined the word “建築 – architecture.” Dr. Miyuki Aoki Girardelli, who has long been based in Turkiye and has specialized in art history research and is known for her book “明治の建築家 伊東忠太 オスマン帝国をゆく”, will give us a lecture on this theme.
