FRIDAY KHUTBA OF TOKYO CAMİİ “MUSLIMS LIVE BY THEIR RELIGIOUS AND MORAL VALUES“

Honorable Muslims!
In the verse I have recited, Allah the Almighty (swt) states, “You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah…”[i]

Dear Believers!
Each Muslim, proud to be a part of the lauded “best nation,” imprints only the high values of Islam on their hearts and minds. They adopt a cautious approach toward any forms of thinking, practice, and habit that are not based on revelation. They keep away from situations that might put their faith in jeopardy. Muslims who maintain their identity do not get lost in the whirlpool of popular culture. They do not adopt lifestyles of other cultures without consideration. They do not accept symbols, modes of entertainment, attitudes, or behaviors that are inconsistent with our faith or authentic tradition.

Dear Believers!
Our Prophet (saw) warns us as follows: “Whoever imitates any people is one of them.”[ii]

So, let us be mindful of our responsibility to our Lord (swt), humanity, and future generations. Let us hold onto the Qur’an and the Sunnah wholeheartedly. Let us arm ourselves with the morals and manners of Islam in all spheres of our lives. Let us avoid all types of words, understandings, and practices that draw us away from our reason of creation, as well as degrade our culture and civilization. Let us not forget that nations exist and thrive on the basis of their religious and moral values and the awareness that is nourished by these values.
